AARP has raised serious concerns after court documents revealed that a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) employee shared sensitive Social Security Administration data with an outside political advocacy group seeking voter fraud evidence. The data transfer occurred in March 2025 via Cloudflare servers, in violation of SSA security protocols — and SSA officials reportedly did not learn about the agreement until November 2025. The incident has been referred to the Office of Special Counsel for potential Hatch Act violations. Privacy experts warn that this kind of breach affects millions of Americans and cannot be undone once sensitive data is shared.

You only need one mistake of a certain type to have a huge number of people harmed and in a way that can't be fixed.
