Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 2026
Senior Gear Hub is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to all users, including seniors and people with disabilities. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us — our audience depends on it.
Our Commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.
What We Do
- Large, readable text — Body text is set at a minimum of 17px. Users can increase text size using browser zoom without breaking the layout.
- High contrast — We maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and UI elements, meeting WCAG AA requirements.
- Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (links, buttons, forms) are accessible via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible at all times.
- Screen reader support — We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and descriptive alt text to ensure compatibility with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
- Touch targets — Buttons and links are sized to a minimum of 44×44px to support users with motor impairments or touch screen use.
- No autoplay — We do not use auto-playing audio or video that could disorienting for users.
- Skip navigation — A skip-to-content link is available on all pages for keyboard users.
- Responsive design — All pages are fully functional on mobile, tablet, and desktop at any screen size.
Known Limitations
We are continuously working to improve accessibility across the site. Some older content or third-party embedded elements may not yet fully meet our standards. We are actively auditing and updating these areas.
Third-Party Content
Some content on our site is provided by third-party services (such as newsletter sign-up forms or affiliate product widgets). We work with providers that prioritize accessibility, but we cannot guarantee full compliance for all third-party elements.
